Someday, I’ll do something amazingly great. I’m not sure when or where my great act of life will happen, and I probably won’t even be expecting it. I doubt I’ll even have a choice of what my greatness will be. But it will happen, and I know I’ll be ready.
You and I are bound to do great things, but for whatever reason, we silence our destiny. By making excuses, fighting with pain and worrying, we lose our awareness and vision to see the opportunity to be great.
In a world where youth seems to be doing all the great things, you may even use the excuse that you’re too old to make a difference. But did you know? At age 92, Paul Spangler, finished his 14th marathon? At 71, Katsusuke Yanagisawa, a retired Japanese schoolteacher, became the oldest person to climb Mt. Everest. In 1998, John Glenn became the oldest astronaut in space at the young age of 77!
The only reason why the young are doing most of the great things is that the old have sunk themselves in their excuses not to be great.
Life is just beginning!
If I don’t believe that I will do something great, then I won’t do anything great. It’s just that simple. When I stop believing in myself (and it happens sometimes), then It will only be a matter of time before I stop doing all of the habits and routines that are helping me prepare for my greatness.
So, yes, someday, I will do something great.
The Reason for This Blog
The most magnificent reflections in my life come to me when I work out. There are all kinds of science behind why your mind opens up when you’re in beast mode. It’s the reason why many people become addicted to body movement in the first place -myself included.
Before each workout, I set an intention to learn something about my life and world. And then, I record it on this blog to encapsulate my thoughts and then share them with you.
What Was My Intention?
My intention for this workout is to just free the the mind and stretch my body. It is a workout of release.
How Did I Feel Before?
I’m feeling pretty good, perhaps a little wound up from all of the mental stuff going on the past few days.
What Did I Do?
- Yoga: 45 minutes of pure leg stretching bliss!
How Do I Feel After?
You know what? I feel confident. Something got released today that needed to be released.
What Did I Learn?
I learned that I don’t need to know the solutions to all of my problems to be great. I merely need to understand my problems and include them into my greatness. Nobody has a problem-free life; it’s just that people who do great things don’t use their problems as an excuse.
