The Ultimate Cheat Sheet On Happiness

Happiness is not found in the result of change, it is found in the pursuit of it.

Stop giving up so quick!

People simply give up too soon. The game of life is meant to be complicated, yet, too many people quit playing before seeing it through to the end. Instead of being comfortably uncomfortable growing by trial and error, people choose to accept their circumstance and ride out their life never feeling accomplished at anything.

Chasing happiness.

There are so many of us chasing happiness through the end result of our circumstance. We believe that our happiness is tied to the predicament we are in and expect the world to change it for us. We soon become addicted to the expectation that our circumstance is the product of our environment. The excuses are all around us “the government isn’t doing this, and now I am that.” or “there aren’t any good jobs around town, so I now am stuck doing this.” or “I don’t have the money to eat healthily, so how do they expect me to not be fat?”.

Happiness comes from the pursuit of uncomfortable change.

Happiness is found not in your circumstance, happiness must come from the pursuitĀ of change and the expectation that through change, comes discomfort. We may not always have the power to change our circumstance but we ALWAYS have the power over our feelings about it.

Focus, focus, focus!

If we are to find happiness in the ever constant wave of change in our lives, we must focus more of our time figuring out why we are experiencing the emotions we feel rather than just accepting them. Understanding why we feel the way we do helps guide us to better reactions, and through better reactions comes increased contentment in the change. Focus on your emotions, focus on your change and focus less on your circumstance; it is not where your happy lives.
