Life Rewards Those Who Asks for Help

We believe that we must go it alone when it comes to making our dreams a reality, but it cannot be done. Ask for help, the world rewards the passionate.

Many of us live a life shrouded in secrecy. Afraid to hurt our pride, or shun our humbleness, we shove our desires deep down in hopes that maybe someday, we will get discovered. We all have goals that we want to accomplish, at the very least we have an idea of a life that we would love to live. True happiness comes when the life that you are living is aligned completely with the life that you see in your mind. We tirelessly put off living that life and become afraid to just “go for it.” We don’t want to fail, and deep down we are scared to ask for help.

Tell people what you want to accomplish and maybe, just maybe, they will help you!

A couple of weeks ago I made the brave decision to make it known on my Facebook wall that I want to be a professional writer someday. It took a lot of guts to do it, but to grow, I have to push my limits until I become uncomfortable. Tossing aside my career as a software developer to pursue the dream of living a life worth sharing in words is both thrilling and scary.

Why is it scary? Well, I have a lot of coworkers on my Facebook, what will they think? Will they believe that I am not a real teammate by chasing a career that has nothing to do with what I do now? Will they think I am a flip-flopper? Could I possibly be passed on for a promotion because of my proclamation? Sure I could! But is that such a bad thing?

If you surround yourself with the right people, the type of people who are willing to help you along in your journey in life, then you should have no fear in telling them what dream you have. The right people will do everything they can to guide you, support you and push you towards your alignment in life.

We are so convinced that our world is so against us, forcing us into holes that we were never meant to fill. Over a lifetime of being square pegs in round holes, we beat ourselves down to file off the edges to fit in. But, that isn’t what a successful and happy life is all about. Our world is here for us, but it isn’t a mind reader. We must make it known of the direction we want to go, more often than not, those who are there for you and are willing to help you, will want to follow you along your path.

Who wants to be surrounded by people that aren’t there to help us achieve our dreams? Be loud and be proud of your intentions, the world will reward you. Sure you will lose people along the way when you announce your plans, but really, who needs people like that in life? When you become undeniably passionate about your dream, there will be more supporters flying in to fill the vacancies left behind by the people you leave behind.

The world rewards the passionate.

  1. When I was reading this, I just had a thought. I wonder if you could pitch a weekly, or monthly, column to CBC, Jeff? Something maybe geared toward helping survivors of abuse? Anyhow, just an idea that popped in my head that I thought I would share. 🙂

    1. This is certainly something for me to look into, I would have to find out if they even offer opportunities like that. It appears more and more that there are content creator positions opening up all over the place. Thank you Louise!! 🙂
